Security Officer

Overview and Qualifications
Job Summary: Maintains a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and property by following Mission's security policies and procedures.
Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Good driving record and valid North Carolina Driver's License
Preferred Education: None
Required License: Must have a valid NC driver's license or procure one within 30 days of employment unless an out-of-state commuter, at least two years of satisfactory driving experience and be at least 21 years of age to meet the Mission Health established insurance guidelines. The following must be completed within six months of employment: 1. Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) 2. Certification in Expandable (ASP) Baton 3. Certification in OC Spray 4. Certification in Handcuff Techniques and Unarmed self-defense 5. Certified Notary Public
Preferred License: Other courses and certifications that would promote job performance and safety.
Required Experience: Two years of law enforcement, security, or public relations work.
Preferred Experience: Prior hospital experience.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
